The Huss & Dalton TD-R is well know as their work horse, powerhouse Dreadnought. Seen on countless stages and heard on even more amazing recordings, this guitar has been well-established in the country, bluegrass, folk and singer/songwriter communities for years. As we're to do, we gave the TD-R a little extra love and spec'd it JUST like we'd love to own, ourselves. Thermo-Cured Adirondack has been graciously finished in a dark tobacco sunburst and framed in curly Koa and Abalone shell. The back and sides are a beautiful and rare set of chocolatey Honduran Rosewood. We matched the headstock veneer, fingerboard and bridge with more Honduran Rosewood. Well-known in the Marimba world, Honduran Rosewood is loved for its resonant and sustaining properties, as well as its durability and stability. We feel this wood is perfectly used for fingerboards and bridges for this reason, and we feel we can hear and feel the difference.
The Adirondack Spruce braces have been attached using hot hide glue, and are deeply scalloped and forward-shifted in a Pre-War style.
