The result was the Quad Cortex, and it changed what players expected from digital gear. With six processing cores, the Quad Cortex offers a level of headroom and sound design flexibility that puts it in a class of its own among floorboard modelers. Its Neural Capture technology lets players profile their own amplifiers with a level of accuracy that holds up on stage and in the studio.
The current hardware lineup includes two main options. The Quad Cortex remains the flagship, offering an extensive I/O configuration including combo inputs, XLR and quarter-inch outputs, stereo effects loop, MIDI, expression pedal jacks, and USB, making it a genuine all-in-one solution for players who want to go ampless or run hybrid rigs. The Nano Cortex, released in 2024, offers a more compact and affordable entry point into the Neural DSP ecosystem without sacrificing the core modeling quality the platform is known for. Both units continue to receive regular firmware updates, with Neural DSP actively expanding the available tones and features over time.
