Hozen Goh began his career in Singapore in 2004, founding Maestro Guitars with the goal of making quality instruments more accessible to players. Over the following years he built Maestro into one of the more respected boutique guitar brands in Asia, along the way traveling to study voicing under Ervin Somogyi, widely regarded as one of the most influential acoustic guitar builders working today. That training became the turning point. In 2022, Hozen stepped away from Maestro to launch Hozen Guitars, a smaller and more personal operation built around a single conviction: that each guitar should be built as carefully as if it were the last one he would ever make.

The instruments reflect that philosophy in every detail. Hozen personally hand-voices every guitar, a process that cannot be replicated at scale and that gives each instrument a responsiveness and tonal clarity most production guitars simply cannot match. Body styles span OM, small jumbo, dreadnought, and modified dreadnought configurations, with tonewoods ranging from Sitka spruce and Indian rosewood in the Black Label series to rarer combinations like sinker redwood and cocobolo in the Blue Label line. Many builds incorporate ergonomic features including bevel armrests, soundports, and the Manzer wedge, a tapered body construction that preserves tonal depth while making a full-size guitar feel considerably more comfortable over long playing sessions. These are instruments built with fingerstyle players and serious students in mind.
