The square peghead has no volute and features an Ebony veneer with no Collings logo on the front and a stamped logo on the back. Relic Nickel Waverly tuners provide a classic appearance and dependable tuning, while the aged bone 1 3/4" nut and cut-through aged bone saddle contribute to the guitar's articulate response.
The Hill Country construction is complemented by a Sitka Spruce Hill Country scalloped X-brace pattern with an abbreviated soundboard graft, also known as a tongue brace. The Ebony belly-style bridge features 2 5/16" string spacing, matched with Ebony bridge pins and end pin. A 25 1/2" scale length, fully adjustable truss rod, and mortise and tenon hybrid neck joint complete a thoughtfully engineered foundation. The one-style Walnut backstrip adds another subtle touch of traditional craftsmanship, while the combination of Adirondack Spruce and Honduran Mahogany gives the OM body a voice that is detailed, resonant, and highly responsive to the player's touch.
Strung with D'Addario EJ-16 strings in .012" to .053" gauge and supplied with a Deluxe Hardshell Case, this Collings OM1A Hill Country is an instrument built for players who appreciate nuance, responsiveness, and exceptional acoustic craftsmanship.
