The Collings OM1 in Honduran Mahogany is an elegant expression of the orchestra model, combining warmth, clarity, and remarkable responsiveness in a beautifully balanced instrument. Its top, back, sides, and neck are all crafted from Honduran mahogany, giving the guitar a rich, woody voice with a focused midrange, clear fundamentals, and a natural sweetness that responds beautifully to both fingerstyle playing and flatpicking. The 25 1/2" scale length and lightweight 4 lbs 1 oz build contribute to its comfortable feel and lively response, while the pre-war scalloped X-brace pattern in Sitka spruce allows the top to resonate with exceptional openness and depth.

Every detail reflects a commitment to traditional acoustic guitar craftsmanship. The body is finished in high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer and accented with tortoise binding, b/w/b/w top purfling, a tortoise pickguard, and an abalone rosette. A walnut 1-style backstrip adds a subtle touch of warmth to the back, while the ebony fingerboard features MOP short dots and a graceful 14" to 26" compound radius. The fingerboard and peghead are left unbound for a clean, understated appearance, and the square peghead is finished with an ebony veneer and MOP Collings logo.

The playing experience is equally refined, with a modified V neck profile, fully adjustable truss rod, medium 18% nickel-silver frets, and a comfortable 1 3/4" bone nut. A mortise and tenon hybrid neck joint provides a precise foundation for the instrument, while the high gloss polyester resin neck finish offers a smooth, durable surface that feels natural in the hand.
