The Fender Nile Rodgers Hitmaker Stratocaster pays tribute to one of the most influential rhythm guitarists, songwriters, and producers in modern music. At the center of his unmistakable sound is his beloved 1960 Fender Stratocaster, affectionately known as "The Hitmaker."
Originally purchased used at a Miami music shop, the original Hitmaker is a unique vintage instrument featuring a 1960 alder body, a 1959 maple neck, and an uncommon hardtail bridge. These distinctive specifications have played an important role in creating the tight, percussive rhythm tones that have become Nile's signature. This Artist Series tribute faithfully captures the character and appearance of that iconic instrument.
The Hitmaker Stratocaster features an alder body finished in Olympic White lacquer and a one-piece maple neck with a comfortable 1959 "C" profile, 9.5" fingerboard radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, and black dot inlays. Three custom Nile Rodgers '60 Strat single-coil pickups are designed to replicate the sound of his original guitar, delivering the clarity, articulation, and unmistakable rhythmic attack associated with his playing. A traditional five-way selector provides access to the familiar range of Stratocaster tones.
Distinctive appointments include a mirrored chrome-plated brass pickguard, period-correct bent steel saddles on the hardtail bridge, Sperzel locking tuners, and a custom Hitmaker neck plate. The instrument also features a chip in the neck pocket, adding to its vintage-inspired character.
