The ES-335 was the world’s first semi-hollow guitar model. Imagined by former Gibson President Ted McCarty, who later called it his proudest contribution, it has been in continuous production since its debut, with support from countless legendary artists, including B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Larry Carlton, and Warren Haynes. Gibson Custom Shop is proud to present this limited edition 1958 ES-335 Reissue featuring Murphy Lab Heavy Aging, a classic Dirty Blonde finish, a big ’58 rounded neck profile, and an unbound fingerboard — a feature found only on 1958 ES-335 models. This version is one of three different finishes commemorating the inaugural ES-335. Limited to 130 instruments for each finish in celebration of Gibson’s 130th Anniversary, these exceptional guitars come complete with a brown and pink Lifton™ five-latch case.
