2024 Collings I-35 LC Deluxe Custom Inlay/ThroBaks/Bigsby - Pelham Blue (Pre-Owned) #232109

The Collings I-35 LC Deluxe Custom Inlay in Pelham Blue is an exceptional expression of Collings’ renowned craftsmanship, combining timeless semi-hollowbody design with premium appointments, boutique electronics, and striking visual character. Featuring a laminated maple body with a solid maple center block, this I-35 LC delivers the warmth, resonance, and airy character associated with a traditional semi-hollow guitar while maintaining the focus, sustain, and controlled response that make it equally comfortable in high-gain applications. Finished in stunning high-gloss Pelham Blue nitrocellulose lacquer, the instrument makes an immediate impression, complemented by elegant grained ivoroid binding along the body, fingerboard, and peghead.

The Honduran mahogany neck features Collings’ extra-long mortise-and-tenon neck joint for exceptional stability and sustain, paired with a beautifully appointed ebony fingerboard featuring custom parallelogram inlays. Additional custom details include an ebony peghead veneer with matching parallelogram inlay, Collings’ distinctive Haircut peghead profile, and grained ivoroid truss rod cover. The 24 7/8-inch scale length, comfortable 12-inch fingerboard radius, 1 11/16-inch nut width, and medium 18% nickel-silver frets create a familiar, effortless playing experience. Nickel Gotoh tuners with Collings logos provide reliable tuning stability, while a three-ply black/cream/black pickguard and black top-hat knobs complete the refined aesthetic.

At the heart of this I-35 LC Deluxe are a pair of ThroBak SLE-101 Plus MXV humbuckers, delivering exceptional vintage-inspired tonal character with the clarity, harmonic complexity, and dynamic responsiveness that have made ThroBak pickups highly regarded among discerning players. DiMarzio 500K potentiometers, Jupiter Vintage Yellow capacitors, and vintage-style 50s wiring provide an authentic, responsive control layout with excellent tonal versatility and the ability to retain clarity as the volume is rolled back. The addition of a Bigsby tremolo brings expressive vibrato capabilities and an unmistakable vintage aesthetic, expanding the guitar's sonic possibilities while perfectly complementing its classic design.

Combining premium tonewoods, meticulous construction, custom inlay work, boutique ThroBak electronics, and the unmistakable visual appeal of Pelham Blue, this Collings I-35 LC Deluxe is a particularly special instrument. Equally suited to sophisticated jazz, blues, classic rock, and modern roots-inspired playing, it offers an extraordinary blend of elegance, versatility, and musical character. Supplied with a deluxe Ameritage hardshell case and strung with D’Addario NYXL .011–.049 strings, this is a beautifully specified Collings for the player who appreciates exceptional craftsmanship and wants a semi-hollow guitar that stands apart from the ordinary.
