Its carefully sculpted body measures 13 1/2 inches wide, 1 5/8 inches thick, and 44 7/8 inches long, offering a comfortable and balanced playing experience.
The roasted maple neck features a smooth gunstock oil finish with a hand-rubbed special wax blend, providing a natural, comfortable feel and excellent stability. Paired with a rosewood fingerboard, an 11-inch radius, and 22 high-profile, wide stainless steel frets, the neck offers outstanding playability and durability. The 34-inch scale length, 1 11/16-inch nut width, and sculpted five-bolt neck joint provide a familiar playing feel with exceptional access to the upper frets. Custom lightweight Music Man tuning machines feature tapered string posts and ergonomic clover-style buttons, while the conveniently adjustable truss rod allows neck relief adjustments without removing strings or components.
At the heart of the StingRay Special HH are dual humbucking pickups equipped with powerful neodymium magnets, delivering the aggressive punch, clarity, and unmistakable low-end authority associated with the StingRay name. An advanced 18-volt, three-band active preamp provides generous headroom and extensive tonal control through dedicated volume, treble, midrange, and bass controls. A five-way lever pickup selector offers multiple pickup configurations, allowing players to explore everything from thick, powerful humbucking tones to more articulate and nuanced sounds. The result is an exceptionally versatile instrument capable of handling virtually any musical style.
Additional premium appointments include a vintage-style Music Man top-loaded chrome-plated steel bridge plate with vintage nickel-plated steel saddles, a black-plated aluminum electronic shielding cover, and the precision construction expected from Ernie Ball Music Man. Strung with Music Man Super Slinky Bass strings in .045-.100 gauges, this StingRay Special HH weighs approximately 8 lbs. 12 oz. and includes a hard case for secure storage and transportation.
