The Jackson Legend Series Limited Edition Signature David Ellefson CB V Concert Bass in Gloss Black is a powerful expression of precision, performance, and unmistakable metal attitude, designed in the spirit of one of heavy metal’s most influential bassists. Its iconic Concert Bass body, crafted from alder, is finished in a sleek gloss black that emphasizes the instrument’s bold contours and commanding stage presence. The pointed Jackson five-in-line headstock, black hardware, black pickup covers, and understated black plastic control knobs create a cohesive, aggressive aesthetic. Beneath its striking appearance lies a carefully engineered instrument built for demanding performances, combining classic Jackson styling with modern appointments and a substantial, well-balanced feel. Weighing 10 lbs 1 oz, this limited-edition signature bass makes a confident statement both visually and sonically.

The foundation of the CB V is a three-piece maple neck-through-body construction reinforced with graphite for enhanced stability and dependable performance. Its oiled neck finish offers a natural, comfortable feel, while the ebony fingerboard provides a smooth and responsive playing surface suited to fast runs, articulate passages, and precise fretting. Pearloid sharkfin inlays deliver a distinctive visual signature, complemented by Luminlay side dots that improve visibility on dimly lit stages. The 12-inch to 16-inch compound-radius fingerboard transitions from a comfortable curve for lower-position playing to a flatter surface for effortless movement across the upper frets. With 22 jumbo frets, a 34-inch scale length, and a 1.75-inch nut width, the bass offers the familiar dimensions and string tension sought by players who demand control and consistency. A dual-action truss rod with headstock adjustment and a Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut complete a thoughtfully designed playing platform.

At the heart of its sound is a pair of EMG humbucking pickups, featuring an EMG 40DC bridge pickup and an EMG 40CS neck pickup, delivering a versatile combination of definition, depth, and authoritative low-end response. This dual-pickup configuration provides a broad tonal palette, from tight, cutting attack and focused mids to fuller, rounded tones with substantial weight. The onboard electronics place control directly in the player's hands through a master volume, pickup blend, and three-band EQ with dedicated bass, midrange, and treble adjustments. Whether driving tightly synchronized metal riffs, anchoring intricate arrangements, or delivering powerful, sustained low notes, the CB V is equipped to adapt its voice to the demands of the music. A Jackson HiMass bridge provides a solid foundation for string response and sustain, while Hipshot Ultralite tuning machines help manage the instrument's balance and deliver precise tuning adjustments. Nickel-plated steel strings in .045 to .130 gauges complete a setup suited to a firm, controlled feel across the full register.

Every detail of the Jackson Legend Series Limited Edition Signature David Ellefson CB V reflects a commitment to musical authority, practical functionality, and performance-driven design. Its neck-through-body construction, ebony fingerboard, high-output EMG pickups, and comprehensive onboard tone shaping make it a compelling choice for bassists who value both precision and power. The combination of a 34-inch scale, jumbo frets, and a compound-radius fingerboard supports confident playing across a wide range of techniques, while the sleek Gloss Black finish ensures a timeless, commanding appearance under stage lights. Oversized strap buttons add a practical touch for secure playing, and the black hardware maintains the instrument's unified aesthetic. Completing the package is an included Jackson DE CB foam-core case, providing dedicated protection for transport and storage. Bold in design and versatile in execution, this limited-edition Concert Bass offers a formidable blend of modern electronics, classic Jackson character, and the unmistakable spirit of heavy metal.
