The Novo Serus J Custom in Inca Burst is a distinctive blend of vintage-inspired character, boutique craftsmanship, and modern playability. Its tempered pine body showcases the warmth and individuality of the wood beneath the Inca Burst finish, creating a rich visual transition that emphasizes the instrument’s organic character. An Extra Light distress level introduces subtle signs of age and wear, lending the guitar a gently lived-in appearance without overwhelming its refined presentation. The tempered maple neck complements the body with natural warmth, while the matching peghead, finished to echo the outer edge of the burst, completes the instrument’s carefully coordinated aesthetic. Weighing 7 lbs 7 oz, the Serus J Custom combines a comfortable, balanced feel with the distinctive personality that defines Novo’s approach to electric guitar design.

The ebony fingerboard introduces a dark, elegant contrast against the tempered maple neck, providing a striking foundation for the MOTO block inlays. Its Medium C neck profile, measuring .830 inches, offers a comfortable and substantial feel without sacrificing agility, while the 25.5-inch scale length delivers a familiar playing response. A compound fingerboard radius transitioning from 9.5 to 14 inches accommodates comfortable fretting in lower positions and smoother bending across the upper register. Jescar FW57110-S stainless steel frets, measuring .110 x .057 inches, complete the playing surface with a carefully considered combination of width, height, and durability. Together, these specifications create a thoughtfully engineered neck that balances traditional familiarity with contemporary performance.

Three Novo Gold Foil pickups by Lollar form the heart of the Serus J Custom’s sonic identity, offering a distinctive tonal palette suited to expressive, dynamic playing. Their configuration provides three pickup positions to explore, from articulate, shimmering textures to fuller, more complex tonal colors. A three-ply black pickguard establishes a crisp visual boundary against the Inca Burst finish, while Dumble knobs and a black toggle switch tip add understated vintage-inspired details. The Mastery M1 bridge works in conjunction with the NV Vibrato and its Lightning Bolt arm, providing an expressive vibrato system and a carefully considered foundation for tuning stability and playing response. Novo 18:1 locking tuners complete the hardware specification, combining precise tuning adjustment with convenient string changes.
