Built with the same thoughtful construction and old soul aesthetic that define the full sized Iris lineup, it brings the unmistakable charm of a tenor guitar into a form that feels lively, purposeful, and immediately inspiring. At only 2 pounds 13 ounces, the AA Tenor is exceptionally light in the hands, allowing its entire body to respond freely to every note.

The classic combination of an Adirondack spruce top and mahogany back and sides gives this instrument a direct, articulate, and beautifully woody voice. Adirondack spruce provides strength, clarity, and impressive headroom, while scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing encourages the top to move with energy and sensitivity. Mahogany adds warmth and focus, emphasizing a clear fundamental note with just enough harmonic color to give chords depth and melodic lines presence.

Within the compact AA Tenor body, these woods create a voice that is crisp without sounding thin and warm without losing definition. An Indian rosewood bar bridge with slanted pin holes, off white bridge pins, and a bone saddle continues the beautifully simple design.

A mahogany neck with a soft V shape carve gives the AA Tenor a subtle vintage feel, while its 23 inch scale length creates an easy, approachable playing experience. The 1 3/16 inch bone nut and 1 21/32 inch spacing at the bridge are thoughtfully proportioned for the narrow tenor format. A bolt on mortise and tenon neck joint provides a stable and serviceable foundation for years of playing.
