Strandberg Boden Bass Standard 5 - Black Metallic #C2606263

The Strandberg Boden Bass Standard 5 in Black Metallic Satin is a sophisticated five-string bass that brings together innovative ergonomics, modern tonal versatility, and precision engineering in a remarkably lightweight instrument. Designed for right-handed players, it features the distinctive Boden body shape and a solid basswood body finished in Black Metallic Satin acrylic, creating a sleek, understated appearance complemented by black anodized hardware. Weighing just 6 lbs. 14 oz., this bass is designed for exceptional comfort and balance during extended rehearsals, studio sessions, and live performances. Its sculpted contours and streamlined construction reflect Strandberg’s forward-thinking approach to instrument design, delivering a professional playing experience that places comfort, control, and musical expression at the forefront.

The bolt-on neck is crafted from roasted maple and reinforced with walnut and carbon fiber for enhanced stability and structural reliability. Its signature EndurNeck profile encourages a natural hand position, supporting fluid movement and comfortable playability across the fretboard. The roasted maple fingerboard features a 20-inch radius and 24 stainless steel frets, including a DHP 28HFS stainless steel zero fret and DHP 28HS stainless steel main frets. With a multiscale configuration ranging from 33 to 35 inches, the instrument balances string tension across all five strings, providing definition and control in the low register while maintaining responsiveness throughout the upper range. A 45 mm nut width, neutral seventh fret, and double-expanding steel truss rod further contribute to its carefully engineered feel. Original green Luminlay fretboard inlays and side dots with black piping improve visibility in low-light environments, while the natural satin acrylic neck finish provides a smooth, comfortable surface for demanding playing techniques.

At the heart of the Boden Bass Standard 5 is a pair of Fishman Fluence Bass 5 active humbuckers, featuring dedicated bridge and neck pickups crafted to deliver a powerful, articulate, and versatile tonal foundation. The onboard Fishman Fluence two-band, three-knob preamp provides intuitive sound shaping through a master volume control with push-pull coil-split functionality, a pickup balance control, a stacked bass and treble control, and a three-way voice selector. This flexible configuration allows players to move between deep, defined low frequencies, punchy midrange presence, and crisp upper harmonics while adapting their sound to a wide range of musical styles. The coil-split feature adds further tonal variation, making the instrument equally compelling for articulate fingerstyle passages, aggressive pick playing, expressive slap techniques, and modern progressive arrangements. Completing the design is the EGS Rev2 five-string bass bridge with individual EGS Rev2 string locks, paired with black anodized hardware and knurled black aluminum control knobs for a cohesive, performance-focused aesthetic.

With a body width of 340 mm, or 13.39 inches, and a body thickness of 42.5 mm, or 1.67 inches, the Boden Bass Standard 5 maintains a compact, ergonomic profile without sacrificing the range and functionality expected from a professional five-string bass. It comes equipped with D’Addario NYXL 45-130 super long scale strings and is factory tuned to BEADG, providing a solid foundation for extended-range playing and confident low-frequency performance. Included accessories comprise a bass tool kit and a .strandberg* standard bass gig bag, offering practical essentials for maintenance and transportation. Combining a lightweight solid-body design, an ergonomic multiscale neck, advanced Fishman Fluence electronics, and a striking black satin finish, the Strandberg Boden Bass Standard 5 is an inspiring choice for bassists seeking precision, versatility, and expressive freedom in an instrument engineered for the demands of contemporary music.
