Rickenbacker 4003S - Jetglo #2632738

The Rickenbacker 4003S in Jetglo embodies the unmistakable character of a legendary bass design, pairing timeless proportions with a sleek, deep black finish that exudes understated sophistication. Its solid maple body presents the instrument’s familiar sculpted silhouette with a refined, seamless appearance, allowing the Jetglo finish to reflect the light with a subtle, glasslike brilliance. Measuring 113.8 cm (44 13/16") in overall length, 34.3 cm (13 1/2") in width, and 31.8 mm (1 1/4") in depth, the 4003S maintains the distinctive presence that has made Rickenbacker basses enduring icons of musical design. Every contour speaks to a heritage built on individuality, craftsmanship, and a sound that stands apart.

The maple neck extends through the body, providing a traditional foundation for resonance, sustain, and structural integrity. A rosewood fingerboard with a 25.4 cm (10") crown radius offers a smooth, comfortable playing surface, complemented by 20 frets and understated dot markers. Its 84.5 cm (33 1/4") scale length delivers the familiar tension and articulation of a full-scale bass, while the 42.9 mm (1 11/16") neck width at the nut and 54.0 mm (2 1/8") width at the 12th fret establish a balanced playing feel across the fingerboard. The absence of neck binding preserves the clean, purposeful lines of the 4003S, allowing its materials and classic construction to speak for themselves.

At the heart of the instrument are two Hi-Gain single-coil pickups, delivering the articulate presence, focused punch, and distinctive clarity associated with the Rickenbacker sound. From deep, resonant foundations to bright, cutting upper frequencies, the 4003S offers a versatile tonal palette capable of anchoring a rhythm section or commanding the forefront of a musical arrangement. Its mono output provides a straightforward signal path, while the RIC bridge and tailpiece complement the instrument’s traditional hardware configuration. Schaller Deluxe machine heads provide reliable tuning control, completing a carefully considered specification that unites familiar design with expressive performance. The result is a bass with a voice that is bold yet nuanced, unmistakable yet adaptable.

Weighing 9 lbs 8 oz, the Rickenbacker 4003S carries a substantial, reassuring feel that reflects its solid construction and through-body neck design. Supplied with a hard case, it is ready for secure storage, transportation, and the demands of rehearsals, studio sessions, and live performance. The Jetglo finish lends the instrument a timeless elegance, equally at home beneath stage lights or in the quiet atmosphere of a recording studio. More than a classic silhouette, the 4003S is an expression of musical identity, bringing together distinctive tone, purposeful craftsmanship, and enduring visual appeal in a bass designed to inspire generations of players.
