The Rickenbacker 4003 in Fire Glo is an iconic electric bass that combines unmistakable vintage styling with powerful, versatile tone and exceptional craftsmanship. Its solid maple body features the stunning Fire Glo finish, showcasing a rich red burst that fades beautifully into natural amber for a timeless, instantly recognizable look. The neck-through-body construction, built from maple and walnut, provides excellent sustain, stability, and a strong fundamental response. A rosewood fingerboard with classic triangle inlays, 20 frets, and elegant neck binding completes the traditional Rickenbacker aesthetic. With an 84.5 cm (33 1/4") scale length, a 42.9 mm (1 11/16") nut width, and a 10" fingerboard radius, the 4003 offers a comfortable playing feel suited to a wide range of styles.
Equipped with two Rickenbacker Hi-gain pickups, the 4003 delivers the distinctive combination of punchy lows, articulate mids, and crisp, cutting highs that has made Rickenbacker basses a favorite among rock, alternative, pop, and progressive players. Its dual-pickup configuration provides a broad tonal palette, from deep, rounded bass lines to bright, aggressive sounds that cut through a full band mix. The mono and stereo output options offer additional flexibility for different signal chains and recording setups, while the RIC tailpiece and V2 bridge provide a traditional, purpose-built foundation for reliable performance. Schaller machine heads ensure precise tuning adjustments, and the instrument's classic proportions—44 13/16" overall length, 13 1/2" width, and 1 1/4" body depth—maintain the familiar feel and balance of the 4003 design. Complete with a hard case, the Rickenbacker 4003 Fire Glo is an excellent choice for players seeking legendary Rickenbacker tone, distinctive styling, and enduring professional performance.
