This instrument is particularly significant as one of the last Gibson guitars personally painted by Tom Murphy, whose legendary finishing expertise defined the Murphy Lab aesthetic. Murphy is no longer painting instruments, making this guitar not only a playable masterpiece but also a highly collectible piece of Gibson history. The Honey Lemon Fade captures a warm, sunlit gradient that transitions from rich amber to soft lemon hues, accentuating the natural flame of the handpicked maple top, while the Ultra Heavy Aged treatment recreates decades of authentic wear, lacquer checking, and patina.
