The Froggy Bottom Model K Deluxe is a magnificent expression of the warmth, power and deeply lyrical voice that have made Froggy Bottom guitars so revered. Founded by master luthier Michael Millard, Froggy Bottom has spent decades cultivating a legacy rooted in musicality, individuality and uncompromising hand craftsmanship. Working alongside a small team of passionately talented craftspeople, Millard continues to build guitars with the sensitivity of a seasoned musician and the precision of a lifelong artisan. Each instrument carries the personality of the hands that shaped it, preserving the intimacy of the small workshop while continuing one of the most respected traditions in contemporary American lutherie.

The Model K is an expansive and commanding platform, capable of producing tremendous depth without surrendering balance or refinement. Its German Spruce top brings clarity, responsiveness and a beautifully supple quality to the attack, while the extraordinary 5A Madagascar Rosewood back and sides add rich harmonic color, powerful bass and a lingering, almost orchestral sustain. The result is a voice that feels vast yet controlled, with round trebles, a complex and resonant midrange and a low end that blooms beneath every note. It responds gracefully to a delicate touch, but when driven, it opens into a broad and authoritative sound with remarkable headroom.

Visually, the guitar is every bit as compelling as its voice. Curly Maple bindings frame the dramatic Madagascar Rosewood with luminous contrast, joined by crisp black and white purflings, an abalone rosette and a shimmering abalone backstrip. The 4A Madagascar Rosewood headstock veneer is crowned by Glenn Carson’s engraved Mother of Pearl frog logo, while the green abalone number 3 Fleur de Lis fingerboard inlay adds a graceful flash of color against the ebony. A bound headstock, imitation tortoise pickguard and clear high gloss finish complete an aesthetic that is elegant, expressive and unmistakably Froggy Bottom.

The ebony fingerboard and belly bridge are paired with a bone nut and saddle, along with ebony pins set with abalone dots. High ratio 21:1 nickel Waverly tuning machines provide exceptionally smooth and precise adjustment. Player focused dimensions include a 14 fret neck joint, 25 1/4 inch scale length, 1 3/4 inch nut width, 2 5/16 inch bridge spacing and a 20 inch fingerboard radius. Weighing 4 pounds 10 ounces and accompanied by a black American Vintage Series TKL case, this Model K Deluxe is a breathtaking continuation of Michael Millard’s legacy and a powerful reminder of what can emerge when exceptional materials are entrusted to a small group of truly gifted hands.
