The Paul Reed Smith Studio in Cobalt Smokeburst is a masterfully designed solidbody electric guitar that blends vintage soul with cutting-edge versatility. Crafted with a mahogany back and a beautifully carved maple top, the Studio’s body features PRS’s violin carve, lending it a sculpted, refined profile that’s both comfortable and resonant. The Cobalt Smokeburst finish adds a striking visual depth, subtly shifting from rich, dark blues to deep, smoky edges that highlight the figuring of the maple top. This high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows the wood to breathe and age gracefully over time, enhancing both the look and tonal response of the instrument.

The mahogany neck, built from a single piece of wood and set into the body, follows the well-loved Pattern profile, offering a substantial feel without being cumbersome. With a scale length of 25”, a rosewood fretboard featuring a 10” radius, and 22 frets, the Studio delivers a smooth playing experience whether you're playing rhythm or lead. The Bird inlays and inlaid PRS signature headstock logo provide iconic visual touches that speak to the guitar’s pedigree and elegance.

What sets the PRS Studio apart is its unique pickup configuration: a McCarty III humbucker in the treble position and two PRS Narrowfield® pickups in the middle and bass positions. This setup delivers the punch, articulation, and power of humbuckers, with the clarity and note definition often associated with single-coils—without the hum. The 5-way blade switch combined with a volume control and push/pull tone knob unlocks a wide range of tones, from fat humbucking drive to sparkling single-coil chime, all while maintaining PRS’s signature tonal balance and musicality.

The PRS Gen III Patented Tremolo bridge provides exceptional tuning stability and expressive vibrato control, while the Phase III locking tuners with wing buttons ensure fast, reliable string changes and fine-tuned performance. The nickel hardware adds a classic touch, blending seamlessly into the Studio’s refined aesthetic.

Finished with PRS’s proprietary nut and strung with PRS Signature 10–46 strings, the Studio is built for reliability, comfort, and sonic exploration.
