Serek team member Benny Monson has been building guitars under the moniker Lockhorn Instruments. I was recently enthralled with one of his Zipper guitars and we decided to build a matching Sacramento to go along with it. This is a rare opportunity to own a completely one-of-a-kind matching Sacramento bass and Zipper guitar!

THE ZIPPER: Clear. Articulate. Crisp. Present. Transmogrified. Punctual. Sarsparilla.

This 25.5″ scale semi-hollow strung-thru guitar has a Roasted Ash core with Mahogany top, back, and neck. A Pau Ferro fingerboard is inlaid and wood-bound. The Novak Goldfoils are controlled by two volumes, a master tone, and a 3-way toggle. Strings break over a handmade aluminum tailpiece and Gotoh Tune-o-matic. Kluson tuners and a bone nut tie the room together.

Other specifications include:

  • Body Wood: Roasted Ash Core / Mahogany Top and Back
  • Neck Wood: Mahogany w/ Roasted Ash Faceplate
  • Fingerboard: Pau Ferro
  • Nut Width: 1 11/16″
  • Nut Type: Bone
