The sunburst on this guitar is a hybrid “hand-applied”/spray applied. The center yellow and reddish inside colors are applied by hand and then the darker perimeter color is hand applied then sealed. Then a slightly darker color is applied again with a spray gun to refine it a bit be=er. I don’t like the “hard” edges with dark colors you some@mes get by hand applying the sunburst. The advantage though of hand applying the colors directly to bare wood is that you accentuate the figure and silk of the spruce.
