The Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Ocelot Telecaster Journeyman Relic in Firemist Silver Super Aged is a captivating blend of vintage Fender inspiration, refined Custom Shop craftsmanship, and distinctive modern character. Its offset seam roasted ash body is finished in nitrocellulose lacquer and given a carefully aged Firemist Silver treatment that evokes the look and feel of a cherished instrument with years of history behind it. The Telecaster solid body retains the unmistakable identity of the classic design while the offset construction gives the Ocelot an individual presence all its own.
The quartersawn maple neck features a comfortable 1957 Soft "V" profile, measuring .850 inches in thickness and .940 inches at the 12th fret, with a 2.200 inch butt width. Its maple fingerboard has a 9.5 inch radius and carries 21 medium jumbo 6150 frets with 7 mm black Micarta dot inlays. A 25.5 inch scale length and 1.650 inch bone nut provide the familiar Fender feel, while the late '60s truss rod, vintage style Fender logo tuning machines, American Vintage '59-'64 string trees, and four bolt vintage style neck plate complete the traditional appointments.
The Ocelot delivers an especially distinctive tonal palette through its HS pickup configuration, combining a Lollar Mini-Humbucker at the bridge with a Lollar Low Wind P90 at the neck. The bridge pickup offers focused power and harmonic richness, while the low wind P90 provides an open, expressive response with plenty of dynamic character. Master volume and master tone controls work with a three position blade switch, offering bridge pickup, bridge and neck, or neck pickup selections. An RSD Jaguar/Jazzmaster bridge, Caballo one-ply parchment pickguard, knurled chrome control knobs, black top hat style switch tip, and nickel/chrome hardware add further individuality to the instrument.
