The Fender Custom Shop 1952 HS Telecaster NOS – Black is a masterfully crafted reinterpretation of one of the most iconic electric guitars ever produced. Built by the renowned Fender Custom Shop, this New Old Stock (NOS) model preserves the timeless aesthetic and spirit of the original 1952 Telecaster while introducing thoughtful modern refinements for today’s players. Dressed in a sleek Black finish and paired with premium appointments, it delivers vintage authority with expanded tonal versatility.

At its core is a resonant ash body, prized for its lively attack, strong midrange presence, and tight low-end response. The classic tonewood foundation ensures unmistakable Telecaster snap and clarity, while the NOS treatment maintains a clean, factory-fresh appearance. The pairing of ash with a beautifully figured birdseye maple neck not only enhances visual appeal but also contributes to the guitar’s articulate response and sustain.

The neck is carved to a substantial ’52 Style “U” profile, measuring .860" at the 1st fret and .920" at the 12th fret. This full, comfortable shape fills the hand with a reassuring vintage feel while providing excellent stability and resonance. A modern 9.50" fingerboard radius offers a flatter playing surface than early ’50s examples, making string bending smoother and more controlled. Outfitted with narrow tall 6105 frets, the guitar provides precise intonation and effortless playability. The 1.650" nut width ensures comfortable string spacing for both chord work and lead playing.

This model features a powerful H/S pickup configuration, significantly expanding the tonal palette beyond traditional Telecaster territory. In the neck position, a Seymour Duncan SH-55 Seth Lover humbucker delivers warm, articulate tones with vintage PAF-inspired sweetness and depth. At the bridge, a ’51 Nocaster pickup provides the unmistakable bite, twang, and cutting clarity that define classic Tele tone. Modern wiring, along with master volume and master tone controls, allows seamless blending of warmth and snap, giving players everything from smooth jazz textures to searing country leads and gritty rock rhythms.

The hardware complements both performance and aesthetics. An RSD Tele bridge enhances sustain and intonation while preserving vintage-inspired style. Fender/Gotoh® vintage-style tuning machines ensure reliable tuning stability with period-correct looks. The nickel/chrome hardware finish ties everything together with understated elegance and durability.

Complete with a premium hardshell case for protection and portability, the Fender Custom Shop 1952 HS Telecaster NOS – Black is a refined fusion of heritage and innovation. It captures the unmistakable character of a ’52 Tele while offering modern playability and expanded sonic range—making it an exceptional instrument for discerning players who want vintage soul without compromise.
