From Stephen Raphael Marchione on his Archtop -

My Archtops have tremendous projection and give you a broad, pleasing voice at full acoustic volume. My detailed work and experience consistently give you a neck that’s stable, reliable and easy to play. The design and construction of my instruments is strongly influenced by the great guitars of the past, which I examined at length, from D’Aquistos to D’Angelicos, from Fletas to Contreras. I invite you to discover for yourself the difference that quality and experience really makes. For the original owner, I guarantee materials and workmanship for the life of the instrument.

Perfectly crafted guitars and delighted customers are my passion. I build each Archtop to be the Ferrari of Archtop guitars. When you play a Marchione Archtop, you’ll find that playability, acoustic sound, and beauty are my focus.

This Archtop is a fully Acoustic/Electric carved Archtop guitar with a floating pickup and all premium solid wood construction.

The back is European Flamed Maple and the top is European Alpine Spruce. The 25.5″ scale length neck is American Sugar Maple, and the finish is Nitrocellulose Lacquer. All fittings, the binding, and the fingerboard are African Ebony, and the pickup is a hand wound, very warm, full output PAF Humbucker. For increased durability and on stage reliability, the 15″ Archtop also features Stainless Steel Fretwire, locking Sperzel Tuners and Schaller Strap Locks.

I designed this guitar originally in conjunction with Mark Whitfield for his ongoing tours with Chris Botti as well as Sting. At less than 6 pounds, this guitar is very lightweight and is designed to be extremely comfortable and musical on stage. She is voiced for a rich, amplified tone without being overly sensitive to feedback from stage monitors while still projecting a strong, acoustic voice. Handmade Leather Strap included.
