The top and back of the body are bound, and the semi-hollow body is crafted with 3-ply AAA figured maple/poplar/maple, while the AAA figured maple outer layer makes these exceptionally beautiful guitars. A solid maple centerblock delivers exceptional feedback resistance and contributes increased sustain, a characteristic that the ES-335 is famous for. The body uses quarter-sawn Adirondack spruce bracing for tone and strength. Players will be impressed by the lightweight feel and expanded range of tonal capabilities that this guitar delivers. The mahogany neck has a comfortable Rounded C profile and is capped with a bound rosewood fretboard that is equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets and is adorned with acrylic small block inlays. The 12" fretboard radius makes it equally well suited for playing first-position "cowboy chords" and soaring lead lines with plenty of string bends further up the neck without fear of the strings fretting out.
