What a pleasure it was to be able to work closely with the artists at Santa Cruz Guitar Company to bring this stunning, one of a kind Fingerstyle Custom model to life. Absolutely nothing was spared in the creation of this instrument. Master Grade Boswell Lost Tunnel Redwood graces its top... Some of the finest old-growth Redwood that can be found today is from the good folks at Boswell. This wood was originally harvested over 150 years ago, and spent over a century as beams in railroad tunnels in Northern California.
Enter: The Tree Quilted Mahogany - One of the finest and rarest tonewoods known to mankind. The signature 3 dimensional quilting pattern to this amazing Mahogany allows it to exist in a class of its own. While its visual presentation is second to none, its tonal properties are what excites luthiers and musicians, alike. The Tree Mahogany possesses a vibrance, responsiveness and overtone presence that is not characteristic of Mahogany... but also quite different than other overtone-rich woods. Frame this all up in some beautifully figured Cocobolo, and we have one of the most refined, elegant Fingerstyle models ever created.
