The Bourgeois Eddie’s Guitars Exclusive Limited Edition OM - Sinker Redwood & Macassar Ebony #3 of 6 is a harmonious fusion of artistry and innovation, born from a collaboration between Eddie’s Guitars and Bourgeois Guitars. This exceptional instrument reflects the vision of Matt and Jandro from Eddie’s Guitars, who journeyed to the Bourgeois workshop in Lewiston, Maine, in April 2024. During their visit, they meticulously selected premium woods and designed bespoke specifications for this six-guitar series. Integral to its creation was Andrew Olson, whose masterful inlay work—an intricate Art Nouveau theme—adorns the rosette, fingerboard, and headstock, making this guitar a singular masterpiece.
This OM showcases a sinker redwood top, its warm, ruddy tones embodying both visual allure and tonal sophistication, delivering a sound rich in depth and overtones. The Macassar ebony back and sides, with their striking, dark striations, provide both a visual statement and a tonal counterpoint, contributing clarity and resonance. Beneath the surface, aged tone Adirondack spruce torrefied bracing enhances the guitar’s responsiveness, adding an aged tonal character and structural stability.
Every element of the guitar’s design is imbued with refinement. English holly binds the body, fingerboard, and headstock, providing a creamy, elegant frame to the vibrant woods. The Soloist-style top purfling lends subtle sophistication, while the rosette, a breathtaking Art Nouveau creation, features Macassar ebony, recon turquoise, mother of pearl, and English holly, blending colors and textures into a mesmerizing design. The English holly backstrip, floating box tail wedge, and heel cap offer continuity, completing the instrument's aesthetic harmony.
The Honduran mahogany neck, finished in satin lacquer for effortless playability, supports an ebony fingerboard inlaid with recon turquoise and mother of pearl in delicate Art Nouveau motifs. The solid headstock, with its diamond volute and ebony veneer, is further enhanced by a matching backstrap, a gold Bourgeois logo, and a stunning Art Nouveau inlay. Pyramid bridge, ebony bridge pins with recon turquoise accents, and gold Waverly tuners with ebony buttons emphasize the guitar’s luxurious appointments.
Finished in a high-gloss aged tone on the body and headstock, this OM is both a visual and tactile delight. Its long-scale design (25.5"), paired with a 1 3/4" nut width and 2 5/16" bridge spacing, ensures versatility and comfort for players across styles. A culmination of meticulous craftsmanship and collaborative vision, this guitar is not just an instrument but a work of art destined to inspire for generations.
