The PRS Eddie’s Guitars Wood Library Studio Swamp Ash/Brazilian in Blue Matteo is a striking example of precision craftsmanship meeting tonal versatility. Built from a carefully curated Wood Library selection, this instrument pairs a resonant swamp ash back with a beautifully figured maple “Ten Top,” delivering both visual depth and a lively, articulate voice. The Blue Matteo finish accentuates the flame and figure of the maple, creating a refined, almost liquid appearance that shifts under light, while the swamp ash body contributes a balanced tonal foundation with clear highs, tight lows, and a slightly airy midrange.

At the heart of its playability is a stained figured maple neck carved to PRS’s Pattern shape, offering a comfortable and familiar grip that suits a wide range of playing styles. With a 25" scale length and 22 frets, the guitar strikes an ideal balance between string tension and ease of bending. The Brazilian rosewood fretboard adds a layer of warmth and harmonic richness, complementing the snap of the maple top and ash body. Its 10" radius provides a smooth playing surface for both chord work and lead lines, while the precise dimensions—7/8" depth at the 1/2 fret, 61/64" at the 12 1/2 fret, 1 11/16" nut width, and 2 1/4" width at the body—ensure a substantial yet fast feel in hand. The fretboard is adorned with Eddie’s Wood Library J-Bird inlays, featuring sparkle abalone outlines and green standard abalone centers, adding a distinctive, high-end visual signature.

Tonally, this Studio configuration is designed for maximum flexibility. The combination of a McCarty III treble pickup with PRS Narrowfield pickups in the middle and bass positions creates a wide sonic palette, ranging from full, vintage-inspired humbucker tones to articulate, single-coil-like clarity. The Narrowfields provide focused, noise-resistant performance with exceptional note definition, while the McCarty III adds warmth, punch, and dynamic response. A volume control and push/pull tone knob, paired with a 5-way blade switch, allow players to access a variety of textures—from glassy cleans to thick, driven leads—making this guitar equally at home in the studio or on stage.

Hardware appointments are equally refined. The PRS Patented Gen III Tremolo bridge offers smooth, stable pitch modulation with excellent return-to-zero accuracy, while PRS Phase III locking tuners with wing buttons ensure reliable tuning stability and quick string changes. The smoked black hardware provides a modern, understated contrast against the vibrant Blue Matteo finish, tying the instrument’s aesthetic together with a sleek, cohesive look.

Strung with PRS Signature 10–46 strings, this guitar arrives ready for expressive playing right out of the case. It is housed in a premium hard black paisley case, offering both protection and a touch of classic style. Altogether, this Wood Library Studio model is a refined, versatile instrument that blends boutique-level materials with PRS’s renowned consistency—an exceptional choice for players who demand both tonal breadth and visual sophistication.
