Step into the Fender Time Machine, and go back to 1964. That's the year that the Fender Custom Shop Heavy Relic Jazz Bass P/J represents. This Fender J Bass is given a Journeyman Relic treatment. Modeled after the original, the '64 J Bass features an Alder body with a roasted 3A flame maple neck, providing you with easy playability, absolute comfort, and incredible stability.
This small run of J Basses takes some of our favorite appointments from the 1960s and meshes them with modern day appointments for the ultimate in sonic qualities and playability. For the person that craves the vintage J bass sound, but never wants to fight with their bass, these are for you! We were also allowed to pick lumber to ensure that the lightest weight and most sonically interesting pieces were selected for our guitars. This P/J setup takes the versatility of the J Bass to a whole new level.
