We are so proud to finally have our very first Ancient Kauri guitar from the wonderful artisans at Santa Cruz Guitar Company! This incredible wood can tell 50,000 years worth of stories... Submerged in the peat bogs and salt marshes of New Zealand, these giant logs were well preserved and harken back to, quite literally, a different world than we've ever known. This is likely the oldest wood known to mankind. Most importantly, the wood is incredibly stable and quite perfect for building the most resonant instruments. With its light weight and highly stiff qualities, this wood is highly desired by the most talented instrument makers in the world. This particular Old Growth German Spruce & Ancient Kauri OM from Santa Cruz is blisteringly light weight, at only 3 lbs 9 oz, and you can feel every note, every nuance, every expression through the back and sides of this special instrument.
