The Taylor Gold Label 717e represents a refined evolution of vintage-inspired tone and modern acoustic innovation. Designed as part of Taylor’s premium Gold Label line, this right-handed, six-string Grand Pacific delivers a powerful, seasoned voice paired with elegant aesthetics and cutting-edge internal architecture. From its torrefied spruce top to its Indian rosewood back and sides, every element is carefully selected to produce warmth, depth, and dynamic responsiveness.

At the heart of the 717e is a Sitka spruce top, thermally aged to enhance resonance and provide a broken-in character straight out of the case. This torrefied treatment adds maturity and sweetness to the tone, delivering rich low-end warmth, articulate mids, and smooth, airy highs. The Grand Pacific body shape contributes a round-shouldered dreadnought response—strong fundamental notes with a controlled overtone profile, making it equally suited for strumming, flatpicking, and singer-songwriter accompaniment. Indian rosewood back and sides deepen the tonal palette with piano-like lows and sparkling top-end shimmer, while the gloss natural finish highlights the wood’s natural beauty.

Inside, Taylor’s innovative Fanned V-Class bracing with tonal rout enhances sustain, projection, and intonation consistency across the fretboard. The two-piece back configuration (no wedge) ensures structural integrity and balanced resonance. Cream body binding, a refined single-ring rosette in cream and black, and a classic firestripe pickguard add subtle vintage character without overpowering the guitar’s understated elegance.

The neck is crafted from neo-tropical mahogany and shaped with Taylor’s comfortable Standard Carve profile, offering smooth playability across the 25-1/2" scale length. A 1-3/4" nut width provides ample string spacing for fingerstyle players while remaining comfortable for chord work. The West African Crelicam ebony fretboard and matching peghead veneer add a sleek, durable playing surface, adorned with Cream Crest inlays for a touch of refined detail. A satin neck finish ensures effortless movement, while the gloss peghead face completes the premium aesthetic.

Performance-ready electronics come courtesy of the LR Baggs Element VTC system, delivering natural acoustic tone with onboard volume and tone control for stage or studio use. The Honduran rosewood bridge is paired with a white TUSQ nut and white Micarta saddle for clarity and consistent tonal transfer. Indian rosewood bridge pins complement the back and sides visually, while nickel Taylor tuners with nickel buttons provide stable, precise tuning. The guitar comes strung with D'Addario XS Coated Phosphor Bronze Light strings (.012–.053) for long-lasting brightness and balanced tension.

Finishing touches include a black strap pin, bronze end pin, and a beautifully appointed Gold Label hardshell case in British Cocoa, ensuring protection befitting such a distinguished instrument.

The Taylor Gold Label 717e blends heritage-inspired warmth with modern structural advancements, delivering a mature, resonant voice and effortless playability. It is an acoustic built for discerning players who appreciate timeless tone elevated by thoughtful innovation.
