The Bourgeois Touchstone Signature Dreadnought in Torrefied Sitka Spruce and Madagascar Rosewood is a breathtaking expression of Dana Bourgeois' lifelong devotion to acoustic excellence. Built as part of the Touchstone Series, this instrument brings together the legacy of one of the world’s most respected luthiers with the skilled artistry of Eastman Guitars, creating a collaboration that honors tradition while embracing the possibilities of global craftsmanship.

Each guitar in the Touchstone Series begins its journey in Lewiston, Maine, where Dana Bourgeois and his team select, brace, and voice every top by hand. This foundational process is what sets Bourgeois guitars apart, and it ensures that each instrument bears Dana’s unmistakable touch. For the Signature Dreadnought, a torrefied Sitka spruce top is paired with Adirondack spruce braces, resulting in a soundboard that is incredibly responsive and seasoned with the warmth and clarity of aged wood. Once voiced, the tops are shipped to Eastman’s workshop in Beijing, where the rest of the guitar is crafted with precision and care. Every completed instrument returns to the United States for final inspection and quality control, ensuring that it meets Bourgeois' exacting standards.

Tonally, this dreadnought is nothing short of extraordinary. Madagascar rosewood back and sides provide a deep, lush low end and shimmering highs, offering the kind of tonal complexity and headroom that players crave in a world-class acoustic. Whether flatpicked with power or played gently with bare fingers, the Signature Dreadnought responds with depth, precision, and character.

The 14-fret Honduran mahogany neck is carved for comfort and topped with a smooth ebony fingerboard. The arrows and diamonds inlay offers a refined and distinctive look, mirrored by the matching design on the Ziricote headstock veneer. The Mother of Pearl Bourgeois logo adds a touch of elegance, and the entire guitar is bound in Ziricote, including the body, fingerboard, and headstock. These details are not just decorative; they reflect a commitment to aesthetic harmony and lasting craftsmanship.

Signature herringbone purfling outlines the top in crisp detail, while the rosette and backstrip continue the Signature theme with tasteful artistry. The ebony bridge is fitted with ivoroid pins, and the bone nut and saddle ensure precise intonation and rich sustain. Schaller Grand Tune gold tuning machines with ebony buttons not only enhance the guitar’s beauty but provide smooth, accurate tuning for years to come.

Finished in high gloss on the body and satin on the neck and headstock, the Signature Dreadnought feels as luxurious as it looks. The satin neck finish offers a broken-in feel from the very first touch, while the gloss body finish brings out the striking grain and colors of the premium tonewoods.

With a 25.5 inch scale length, a 1 23/32 inch nut width, and 2.2 inch string spacing at the bridge, this guitar offers familiar dimensions that will feel comfortable in any serious player’s hands. Weighing in at just 4 pounds 14 ounces, it balances beautifully whether on the lap or over the shoulder.

The Bourgeois Touchstone Signature Dreadnought is more than just a guitar. It is a statement of what is possible when heritage meets innovation, when the voice of a master builder is carried forward with global craftsmanship and care. It arrives in a deluxe hard case, ready for the stage, studio, or anywhere inspiration calls. For the discerning guitarist seeking resonance, beauty, and soul in every note, the Signature Dreadnought delivers without compromise.
