The WG Bass has a single-cutaway, 14” lower bout, solid 2-piece Alder body, and a 3-piece, ¼ sawn Eastern Hard maple neck, with an Ebony fretboard. It features a 34” scale length, Schaller BML tuners and our own JP Woodtone Deluxe Bass Bridge with Ebony and Stainless Steel saddles. My neck to body fastening method (1/4” Chrome plated Steel connector bolts, coupled to solid brass threaded inserts) not only gives an amazingly strong mechanical bond, but also adds a beautiful complexity to the overtones and harmonics. Combined with a retro Planer Humbucking pickup in the neck position, a single-coil Tele Bass-style pickup in the bridge position, and Master Volume, Tone, and Blend Controls, the WG produces a thunderous bass tone, while still getting plenty of cut. No top position markers add to its clean retro look.
