Strahm Von Strahm Electric Guitars — The Acoustic Master Goes Electric

Stephen Strahm is one of the most respected luthiers working in America today, and his path to that reputation was anything but ordinary. After graduating from the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix in 1999, he spent nine years at Santa Cruz Guitar Company before going on to work alongside Rick Turner, finishing specialist Addam Stark, and master acoustic builder Jeff Traugott in Santa Cruz, California. In 2012 he struck out on his own, and the acoustic guitars that followed quickly earned him a devoted following among players who understand that instruments at this level are in a category of their own.

The Von Strahm is what happens when that deep expertise turns its attention to the electric guitar. Built with the same obsessive wood selection, hand-rubbed nitrocellulose finishing, and meticulous setup that define his acoustic work, the Von Strahm is an S-style electric that sounds and feels nothing like a production guitar. A one-piece alder body, quartersawn maple neck, old growth Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, compound radius fretboard with rolled edges, period-correct Alnico 5 single-coil pickups, Gotoh vintage hardware, and cashew resin lacquer finishes combine to produce an instrument of extraordinary resonance, balance, and tonal depth. Every detail, from the vulcanized fiber dot inlays to the NOS tone capacitor to the parchment pickguard with its vintage wide bevel, has been chosen with the same care Stephen applies to instruments that sell for twice the price.

This is a Strat-style guitar for players who have played every Strat-style guitar and decided they wanted something better. Browse our available Von Strahm inventory.
