Fano Electric Guitars — Vintage Taken Forward

What if the great American guitar builders of the 1950s had all worked together under one roof? What if Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, and Rickenbacker had shared ideas, swapped specs, and built instruments that borrowed the best from each other?

That question is at the heart of every Fano guitar ever made.

Founded by master luthier Dennis Fano, the brand was built on a simple but radical idea: take the shapes, woods, and aesthetics that defined the golden age of American guitar building, then twist them just enough to create something entirely new. The result is a lineup of instruments that feel instantly familiar yet unlike anything else you've played.

Built in the USA, Built to Last

Every Fano guitar is hand-built in Arizona with meticulous attention paid to fretwork, setup, and playability. These are boutique instruments in the truest sense, crafted using time-tested tonewoods like alder and maple, finished in nitrocellulose lacquer, and fitted with premium hardware from names like TonePros, Lollar, and Fralin. Whether you choose a guitar straight from the Oltre lineup or go fully custom with an Alt de Facto, the craftsmanship is identical.

One of the most recognizable hallmarks of the Fano brand is its approach to aging. Each guitar is available in multiple distress levels, from NOS (new-old-stock) all the way through to heavy wear, so you can choose a guitar that looks and feels like it's already lived a life worth playing.

The Two Lines Explained

Alt de Facto — The flagship series and the one that put Fano on the map. The Alt de Facto is a fully custom instrument built to your exact specifications, with your choice of body wood, pickups, color, hardware, and distress level. No two are exactly alike. This is the series that attracted high-profile players like Gary Clark Jr., Walter Becker of Steely Dan, Johnny Marr of The Smiths, and Matthew Followill of Kings of Leon, and it remains the purest expression of what Fano is all about.

Oltre — The Oltre series was designed to bring that same Alt de Facto quality to players who want a more streamlined ordering experience. The workmanship is identical, the materials are the same, and the hand-built care is unchanged. The difference is a more curated set of options, which allows Fano to offer these guitars at a more accessible price point without cutting a single corner where it counts.

The Models

JM6 — Fano's offset-body flagship, inspired by the classic Jazzmaster silhouette but pushed in new directions. The JM6 pairs an alder body and maple neck with a compound-radius rosewood fingerboard, and is available with a wide range of pickup configurations including Lollar P-90s, mini humbuckers, and full-size Imperials. It's the model that started it all, and it remains the one most players reach for first.

SP6 — A single-cut design with a nod to the LP Special, but filtered entirely through the Fano lens. The SP6 is a workhorse that rewards every style of playing, from clean arpeggios to full-throttle overdrive, and its blend of classic silhouette and modern playability features makes it one of the most versatile guitars in the lineup.

RB6 — Fano's take on the Rickenbacker-inspired body shape, reimagined with bolt-on construction, a six-a-side headstock, and a personality that's entirely its own. The RB6 is the most distinctive-looking model in the range, and it sounds just as individual as it looks.

TC6 — A single-cut design that echoes the traditional solid-body Tele format, then breaks from convention with a distinctive pickguard and a pair of P-90 pickups that deliver vintage sparkle, body, and bite in equal measure. The TC6 is proof that the most familiar shapes can still surprise you.
