Shop Padalka Electric Basses — Architecture in Your Hands

Simon Padalka left a career in architecture carrying the principles of the discipline with him: structure, balance, and beauty as inseparable qualities of any object worth making. That foundation shapes everything about a Padalka bass, from the compositional logic of the body silhouette to the color theory behind every finish to the obsessive precision of the fretwork and hardware fit. Each instrument is designed not only as a world-class sonic tool but as a tactile and visual experience, meant to inspire before a single note is played.

Now working from Saskatoon, Canada as both an independent builder and Master Builder at Dingwall Guitars, Simon produces five to ten Padalka instruments per year across the full lineup. The bass side of the catalog centers on two models, the Ennea and the Ennea Headless, both of which have earned a devoted global following among players who want an instrument that performs at the highest level and looks like nothing else in the room.

The Models

Ennea Bass — The legacy model and the instrument that has defined the Padalka name since 2012, carried through from the earliest days of the brand and the only model Simon chose to bring into the new Canadian chapter of the operation. A set-neck solid-body design available in four, five, and six-string configurations at a 34.5-inch scale, with white ash or alder body options, multi-piece flame maple and wenge laminated necks, ebony fingerboard with a 12-inch radius, and Jescar EVO Gold frets. The design has been called stunning in workmanship and described on TalkBass by owners as delivering great sound, remarkable playability, and a lightness that makes extended playing sessions feel effortless. Starting at $7,800.

Ennea Headless Bass — The headless variant of Simon's signature design, eliminating the headstock entirely for improved balance, reduced weight, and a more forward-thinking visual statement that reflects the architectural design philosophy at its most complete. Starting at $7,400, and the preferred choice for players who want the Ennea tonal character with maximum ergonomic efficiency and the cleanest possible visual line.

Both models are available with an essentially unlimited range of exotic top wood, hardware, and pickup options, developed in direct conversation between Simon and the player through a mockup and specification confirmation process before a single piece of wood is cut.

A Multi-Year Wait That Is Worth It

Build slots fill annually, and 2025 slots were filled before the year began. Reach out to discuss placement on the waitlist for the next available build cycle. Players who have owned a Padalka bass consistently describe it as the instrument they stop comparing everything else to.
