The PRS DGT (David Grissom Trem) - Faded Blue Jean is the result of more than two decades of collaboration between PRS and acclaimed guitarist David Grissom. Designed to meet Grissom’s exacting performance and tonal standards, the DGT blends vintage-inspired character with modern precision. Finished in a stunning Faded Blue Jean high-gloss nitro, this model delivers timeless style, exceptional feel, and a remarkably versatile voice suited for stage and studio alike.

Built with a classic PRS solidbody platform, the DGT features a carved maple top with PRS’s elegant violin carve, paired with a resonant mahogany back. This proven tonewood combination produces a rich midrange foundation, articulate highs, and a tight, musical low end. The high-gloss nitro finish enhances both resonance and aesthetic depth, allowing the figured maple top to shimmer beneath the cool, denim-inspired burst.

The one-piece mahogany neck is set into the body for optimal sustain and tonal transfer. Carved to the exclusive DGT neck profile, it offers a slightly fuller feel that sits comfortably in the hand without sacrificing speed. Measuring 27/32" deep at the 1/2 fret and 61/64" at the 12 1/2 fret, with a nut width of 1 21/32" and 2 7/32" at the body, the neck strikes a balance between vintage substance and modern playability. The 25" scale length provides a unique tension profile—snappier than shorter scales yet warmer than traditional 25.5" designs—while the PRS double-acting truss rod ensures reliable adjustability.

The rosewood fretboard features a comfortable 10" radius and 22 frets, emphasizing expressive bends and smooth vibrato. PRS’s understated moon inlays add a classic touch, complemented by the signature headstock decal and “DGT” truss rod cover. Every detail reflects Grissom’s preference for a guitar that feels broken-in and immediately responsive.

At the heart of the DGT’s voice are specially voiced DGT treble and bass pickups. Designed to capture clarity, punch, and dynamic nuance, these pickups excel in everything from sparkling cleans to harmonically rich overdrive. Unique among PRS models, the DGT features two independent volume controls and a push/pull tone control paired with a 3-way toggle switch. This layout allows players to blend pickups with precision and access coil-split tones that retain impressive fullness and balance, dramatically expanding the guitar’s tonal range.

The PRS Patented Tremolo, Gen II bridge provides smooth, expressive vibrato while maintaining tuning stability and sustain. PRS Phase III locking tuners with faux-bone buttons enhance both reliability and vintage-inspired aesthetics, all finished in nickel hardware for a refined, professional look. Strung with PRS Signature 11–49 strings (featuring a plain “G” string as specified by Grissom) and tuned to standard pitch (E, A, D, G, B, E), the DGT offers a slightly firmer feel that contributes to its bold tone and enhanced dynamic control.

Complete with a protective hardshell case, the PRS DGT – Faded Blue Jean stands as a masterfully refined signature instrument—combining vintage soul, modern craftsmanship, and player-focused innovation into a guitar that responds effortlessly to nuance, touch, and expression.
