Used – Kevin Ryan Mission Grand Concert – Engelmann Spruce & Curly Maple (1996)

We are incredibly proud to have this vintage Kevin Ryan Mission Grand Concert in our shop for consignment sale. This guitar beautifully represents Kevin’s earliest work – as this is the 26th guitar built in his career. A stunning presentation of old growth Engelmann Spruce and extra Curly Maple make a powerful statement and provide a complex tone that is both lush and articulate. This well matured example has a tone that most would associate more with a Rosewood guitar, as its sustain and overtone qualities are far more dramatic than what we’re used to hearing from Maple back and sides. The Engelmann Spruce top responds rapidly to even the lightest attack, and has a dynamic range befitting a nearly 30 year old instrument. Its no stranger to playing strong rhythm passages and has good headroom to do so. The Curly Maple neck and headstock veneer are icing on the cake, and perfectly complete this beautiful package.

The overall condition of this guitar is truly great. There is some light finish checking in parts of the finish that can be seen in our photos. The bridge has a very slight lift. We reached out to Ryan about this and they said the guitar could be sent to them to have the bridge lift repaired for $300.00. We are selling in as-is condition, and pricing the guitar accordingly so the buyer can take advantage of this highly discounted repair cost. The guitar is playing perfectly and without issue currently, with the slight bridge lift.
