At Bourgeois Guitars in Lewiston, Maine, attention to detail is unmatched. Dana hand selects each combination of woods for every single guitar, as well as hand carve every top brace. Though Mr. Bourgeois' hands are intimately involved in almost every step of the build process, his small team of skilled craftsmen have the knowledge and ability to help Bourgeois' creations come to life. Fine tone woods are selected first for sonic qualities and then for appearance, before being matched with other compatible tone woods. Their objective is to find the greatest potential in every piece and how it will work in relation to the size and shape of a particular instrument. Each guitar is unique and even identical models receive very individualized attention. Once completed, Dana gives his instruments the final inspection for perfection in aesthetics, playability and sound.
